We handcraft fine traditional chocolates, modern pastry and fanciful confections in a beautiful seaside village of Mallorca. Perfectly proportioned and delicately flavoured, our creations lead the way with only naturally occurring sugars recipes, locally sourced ingredients and mostly seasonal produce.
Mara & Joan founded Dolça in Puerto de Andratx in 2016 after a successful career in Barcelona. They both learnt from and worked with Oriol Balaguer, which informs their elevated approach to classic confectionery with a freestyle twist.
Pastry chef and chocolatier Mara is known for a lot of things, including her gilded cakes, hand-painted macarons, and fruit tarts. The beauty in her work is recognised by an impeccable technique and sleek decoration based on natural elements, but also because all her production is based on no added sugar. Among Mara’s signature desserts is the chocolate cake, a semi sphere made with 70% dark chocolate; her glazed mango mousse and the violet ganache cake is a must-taste too. Minimalism has seldom tasted so good.
Joan is an artisanal confectioner passionate about chocolate. From single-origin bars to hand cut truffles and seasonal fruit-filled bombons, his hand-painted dark chocolates are impeccably constructed, with layers of flavour – candied orange almond praline, olive oil ganache or the fig and foie mousse- beneath each thin chocolate shell. The interpretation of traditional flavours is a testimony to Joan’s advanced skills, although there is yet much to unveil. Yes, Joan makes deliciously gorgeous chocolate confections.
Based in Puerto de Andratx, Narez & Cuart’s store and artisanal bakery has a dedicated chocolate room and sweet kitchen enabling visitors to view the whole process. There is also a cafe and tea corner where you can sit and enjoy any of our confections for breakfast and snack time. We also offer a range of savoury light bites including our signature sobrasada croissant. Take away drinks are also catered for should you just be looking for a convenient place to stop and pick one up.
